Abstract

Burn patients, specifically severe cases, are at a high risk of developing bacterial infections compared to others. Many advancements have reduced the incidence of burn wound infections over the last few decades and these include timely antimicrobial therapies , both topical and systemic, early excision and closure of burn wounds and the introduction of infection control measures in modern burn units such as isolation facilities.
